Not sure how I feel about this whole "neocities" thing
I think, on the whole, I like neocities quite a bit. I mean, what's not to like? It's free, it loads quickly, and it doesn't have any ads or tracking (afaik).
But it's not perfect. Big surprise, I know. The interface is just ok. I constantly find myself wishing it could interface with a database at all. Pocketbase is a really nice way to handle posts, and if Neocities knew how to handle template rendering that would probably go most of the way to alleviating my issues.
I know the point is hand-made websites, which is really cool, but most of the time I just want to write. And Neocities' interface is not great for that. I'd also really like to be able to automatically insert dates (creation date, date last modified) in my posts. I know, I know, I can do that by hand too, but I don't wanna. Oh well. Same goes for RSS feeds. I'm not quite sure what the point of this post was (other than whining), but I suppose that's ok, too.
EDIT: case in point, right after I finished writing this, I had to manually add the link to this posts to the homepage, then I had to come back and fix this page because the stylesheet href was pointing to a relative path rather than an absolute path
